To begin using the following link to go Gamesalad http:cookbook.gamesalad.com/ after registering for free you download the software with its Creator Plug-in Plug-in for Apple or Android. Currently in beta release 0.9.92 there are many things you can do with the free version, of course, publish your game on Appstore, but if you decide later to purchase the license know that the price is $ 299, is to start well the free version.
At this point, double click on My Great Project and enter for the first time in our game, of course to be started.
We finally enter the main screen where we begin to realize our game. Obviously for the moment let’s see the main components to start getting comfortable with our program.
In this screen we have everything you need to manage our game. We start with the main functions, buttons with icons Home Scenes and Tables:
Home, represents this screen management game, a bit like coming home. Scenes, if we click here opens another screen that is called Initial scenes Tables, if we click here does not open anything, do not be afraid the program is working, but to be active this button must first perform another operation, which for the moment you do not need this functionality is already considered a slightly more advanced level, for the moment it is not essential.
Because now we are on the Home screen, we can go to use the four buttons grouped in the center of our screen.
When we get to this screen I always suggest to press the green dot in the upper left corner and extend the full screen size of the page program, this operation will return immediately useful for what we are going to do.
At this point we are going to select the key scenes from the central multiselect button, and an icon will immediately Initial Scenes, we click inside, as if by magic you will open our first job, in order to achieve the first stage of the game.
In this screen we can find many things, we say that everything that we need to start the find from this screen. We start with explaining the thing is that the Plaintiffs in the page you will find under the name of Actors if you click the + button
Now we take our Actor and deliver within our game screen, all while holding the left mouse button and dragging our Actor at the center.
At this point we put our Actor within the scene, this operation is very simple but still there would be many parameters you can edit this Actor, but for now do not analyze them. We can however, before concluding this first tutorial, make a small movement to begin to animate this Actor. If we click we move into our Actor to a new screen, this is the screen where you enter the behaviors we want to do to our Actor. We will find the center of the stage a big lock screen, just click above you will get a white area where you can begin to add behaviors to our Actor.
From this screen inizamo to insert something, to our left is a button with a multifunction button it means Behaviors “behavior” are so many icons of written English, we explain what we get if we insert this object icon in the white screen.
But in the upper right is a button Create Rule means “Create Rule”, click on it and it will open a screen in the white zone.
In this screen I entered what I want to go to change this behavior Actor Receives touch event is pressed, I told my screen actor when touched with the mouse button to perform an action. At this point I’m going to look between the behaviors that I find to my left and I’ll get to where else wrote Accelerate I click over the icon to keep hold of it with your mouse and drag him into this position you see on the screen.
For the moment we do not change anything in this behavior at this point, click on the green Play button you find in the top center of the screen. will start the game though small, go with the mouse over your Actor, hold down the mouse over and see the Actor begins to move accelerating.
Here at this point you have made the first crucial step to make a game with Gamesalad.
Do not miss the next episodes of this Tutorial, in the end we will be able to make a game for mobile device. Until next time …….
